Student  Council

The Student Council is composed of students elected by their classmates in grades 4 through 8. The elected officers are president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, religious chair, and spirit chair. Students in grades 4-8 may submit their names to fill the positions of class representatives or to serve on the religious or spirit committees. The names are drawn during an all-school Mass.

The Student Council takes on many different responsibilities throughout the school year like Pennies for Patients and the Shoeman Water Project. The members help to welcome new and returning families at the annual Popsicle Social in August. Several fundraising events are planned during the year. The monies generated are sent to a variety of organizations. The Council also designed and brought to reality a memorial garden for one of our students. The students are also maintaining Lizzy’s Garden.

The Religious Committee plans special all-school liturgies and Morning Prayer. They organized the school service activity to send new or gently used shoes to a mission in Belize. We collected over 190 pairs of shoes.

The Spirit Committee takes on a huge project – Red Ribbon Week. The officers prepared by attending a Leadership Workshop. Different activities were planned for each day of the week. The culminating activity was an all-school and parent Walk-Run.
