Filled With Love

The St. Ann students gathered over 100 grocery bags filled with canned and boxed goods for the Caritas House food pantry. On Dec. 3rd the students formed a human chain and passed the bags from school to the Caritas House down the street. Each bag was decorated with the words “Filled With Love” Some parents joined the chain also!

It was a beautiful way to start off the first week of Advent!

Filled With Love

Throughout the month of December, St. Ann families sent in grocery bags filled with canned goods, boxed food and personal care items. Each bag was decorated by the students in Art class and labeled “filled with love”.

On Dec. 19th the entire student body created a human chain from the side door of St. Ann School to Caritas House down the street. Caritas House is a thrift store/food pantry run by the St. Vincent DePaul Society. After the chain was formed, the students started passing all the “Filled with Love” bags down the chain. It took a half hour to pass over 200 bags filled with food, personal care items and everything else donated by the St. Ann Community. The people at Caritas House were extremely grateful to receive so many supplies for the needy people in Normandy and the surrounding area.

When all the bags were passed the students and teachers gathered at the door of Caritas House and sang “We wish you a Merry Christmas” It was a wonderful way to live out our theme of service!
