LEARN
INNOVATIONST. ANN INNOVATION
Rooted in our history, St. Ann Catholic School is ready for the future. We respect tradition and embrace the future. For example, many schools replaced their traditional chalkboards with a SmartBoard. These boards can have only one user at a time and can fail. We chose a solution that uses the existing whiteboard while still being interactive, meaning several students can solve problems at the board at the same time, and if the technology doesn’t cooperate, the markers still work.
We are the first school in the area to have “human-centric” lighting in our classrooms. Teachers can dim the lights and adjust the color temperature to help students learn. The lights can be a calming warm yellow for reading and a bright white for math class. Our historic school building has wireless internet access and is wired from top to bottom with a computer network. Teachers enhance instruction using Chromebooks and iPads. Art and technology are taught by the same full-time award-winning teacher. The two disciplines are taught side by side. Meeting three times a week allows students to engage in larger projects. The skills of art and the tools of technology are closely linked in today’s world.
